Come find us at a pop-up market this holiday season.

Our Story

Muriel, our mother & nana, was a 70's era ‘back to the land’-er who grew her own vegetables & bought meat & raw milk from the farmer down the road. She was also a hand-knitter who produced one-of-a-kind creations that we still use today.

We inherited Muriel's commitment to local agriculture & love of quality knitwear. We source fiber from small New England farmers - which helps them stay on their land - & use regional processors to turn it into singularly hearty yarns. We utilize advanced manufacturing technologies to knit, & then hand finish each piece right here in Vermont.

We do it to honor New England, Mother Earth, & of course, Muriel.

Our Press

Our Home

Local farms are the backbone of Vermont...

We started Muriel's to create unique, timeless knitwear & to protect our home. We source our wool from farmers like Dave Martin. When we buy wool from Dave & other local farmers we're providing them with an important source of revenue so they can continue to do what they love - keep New England farmed.

...and they're saving the world.

Dave & our other farmer partners engage in regenerative agricultural practices that build soil organic matter & foster biodiversity - whch helps save our planet.

Always responsibly sourced.

We responsibly source our cotton & hemp as well & use post-consumer recycled paper packaging & renewable power. Because our home is so worth protecting.

Our Process

Cyrus designs our styles on a computer software then programs his Shima Seiki wholegarment knitting machines, which knit entire garments in one piece. We don't have to link or sew, which reduces the labor required & virtually eliminates waste. We also reduce waste by knitting garments on demand so we don't have excess inventory that could end up in the landfill.

Our Team

What started as a family affair has grown as we work to keep up with demand. The team includes Cyrus, Laura, Tia (our summer 2023 intern) & Meg, of Moonspinners LLC.
