Come knit red hats with us every Thursday in March 5 to 7 at Kraemer & Kin - right next to our Design Studio & Retail Shop.

The wool in many of our styles is from hearty New England sheep, whose fibers are long & durable...& make super cozy sweaters. Some finer wool styles are made with fiber sourced regionally; sheep with finer wool prefer arid climates over cold, damp New England.

Our local spinners process the wool gently, so it retains its lanolin & weather-proofing. It also retains its natural color & texture characteristics, so each piece is entirely unique.

Our alpaca fiber is also from New England farms, where alpacas do quite well. Which it wonderful because honestly, wearing a luxurious alpaca sweater is like wearing a warm hug.

Our cotton is a blend of organic & recycled cotton; cotton scraps created during the production of tee shirts are recycled & blended with organic cotton to make new yarns.

We use hemp & linen for our blends & lighter summer styles.

We also use Tencel, which is made from the wood pulp of trees grown on tree farms.

Garment Care

Our pieces are treated with natural botanicals - not harsh chemicals - & should be washed gently. Turn wool garments inside out & soak in cool water & mild soap for 5 minutes. Squeeze & wring gently then roll in a towel to remove excess water - see more wool care tips from American Wool.

Cotton styles can be washed in a machine; turn the garment inside out & place in a mesh bag then use the gentle cycle on cool. Lay garments flat to dry then tumble dry on low for 5 minutes to soften.

Linen styles should be hand washed gently then laid flat to dry & ironed to soften.
